These two communities combined to form the municipality of Angelbachtal. Both communities have a history of more than 1000 years.
Evidence of this long history are the two water palaces. One of them, the Michelfeld palace, is privately owned.
Family Gessler runs the hotel and restaurant Schloss Michelfeld in an atmosphere offering style and comfort.
The municipal administration and a café/restaurant are located in the Eichtersheim Palace. It is situated in a wonderful park of 7 hectares with old and exotic trees. A special attraction for art lovers and critics are the sculptures of the artist residing in the Heckerhaus. Alone the broad range of work exhibited here is worth a "sculptour".
There are frequent festivities on special occasions in the palace garden. On the second weekend in August, for example, there is a medieval riding tournament.
