Heidelberg is so exciting, beautiful and interesting that one doesn't know where to go first. Therefore we suggest various tours and you can choose one or two of them which interest you most.
These are our tours:
Tour 1
We start on the Heiligenberg where you can climb the Bismarck tower. From here, you have a wonderful view on the surrounding landscape. We also have a look at the Heydenloch, a well of Celtic origin. A beautiful forest trail leads us down to the valley − in autumn you can gather a lot of beechnuts and marrons (edible chestnuts), which you can cook or roast at home. Our walk leads us to the Philosopher's path or to the Schlangenpfad (Snake Path)!
Tour 2
We show you the heart of the old city and tell you things you certainly don't know yet. We will explain the names of lanes such as Steingasse (stone lane), Fischgasse (fish lane) or Eselpfad (donkey path). We visit the Hexenturm (witch tower) which belongs to the old Heidelberg town wall. In former times, prisoners were kept here! We also visit a shop selling metal toys used by children in former times.
Tour 3
What, you have never been in the Heidelberg Castle? Then it is time now to go there! We will use the cog railroad to drive up to the castle and we show you the castle garden, a very old pharmacy, a really big wine vat − the entire contents of which were drunken by a little dwarf named Perkeo − a real witch bite and of course the castle with its many rooms and halls. If you want to, we can climb or drive further up the mountain − if not, we will return by foot or cog railway to the old town of Heidelberg.
Tour 4
If the weather is bad, we will have a guided tour through the Kurpfälzische Museum which offers a lot of interesting things. If the wheather is fine, icecream is waiting for you. At the end of our tour, we visit the sugar bakery in the Plöck street: Here all types of sweets can be admired and tasted!
We drive with a little light-blue bus with seats for 8 persons, besides the driver. So you can invite 7 friends or your sisters and brothers and your parents; and maybe there is still a place for grandmother and grandfather?
