Götz von Berlichingen (1480-1562)
Götz von Berlichingen grew up in Jagsthausen, attended school in Niedernhall und lost his right hand in a fight in 1504. It was replaced by an iron fist which was partly movable. In numerous feuds the knight fought against princes and entire cities. In 1516 the famous sentence was uttered in Krautheim: "He can lick my ass." This made him the most often cited person from the Hohenlohe family, and Goethe even based his drama "Götz von Berlichingen" on his memoirs. G. v. Berlichingen was buried in the cloister of the Schöntal monastery and "awaits a happy resurrection".
